Love is(n’t) in the air
So I’m waiting for my Wizzair flight to Budapest. Wizzair flights have all been late so far. This time whilst waiting, packed like sardines, in the departure gate, a big Hungarian guy starts crying and talking loudly on his phone (not a good look in the departure lounge). At one point he’s on his knees crying and pleading (begging his wife not to leave him? I don’t know, my Hungarian ain’t that Jó yet). I lose sight of him though and soon we’re on the plane. But its not leaving and the pilot eventually says ‘sorry for the delay we’re just trying to fix a small problem’. ‘Problem’ is not the kind of word you want to hear from a pilot before take off. What happens though is two police officers come on board and take away the big heart-broken man. He goes peacefully, and we leave. Now this is the second time the wizzair was late because the police had to arrest someone (the first time it was the flight just before mine). What’s going on? Does the UK now have a policy of not letting emotional Hungarians leave the country?
It’s all sooooo retro out there! I like it though.
